How often does COP take place?ĬOP happens every year, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. In 2015, these countries adopted the Paris Agreement and its goal to limit warming to 2☌ (and, preferably, 1.5☌) above pre-industrial levels. The CMA meeting also takes place at COP and includes the 196 countries that are party to the Paris Agreement.
